  • No. Because all of our services are psychoanalytically informed, they all start with an initial conversation in which we will find out the best pathway forward for you. Some people book one service – such as Listening – and decide to book another, like Dressing or Organising, later in their journey. We work at your pace.

  • No, the journey is yours, and it implies a unique timeline. Everything starts with an initial conversation where we listen to your needs. From there, we decide together which entry point – Mind, Body or Environment – feels most urgent or accessible for you right now.

  • We do not process insurance claims directly. However, for our Listening (Psychotherapy) services, we are a UKCP registered provider. If your insurance plan covers psychotherapy, we can provide you with formal invoices upon request, which you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

  • Absolutely. While our work is informed by psychoanalysis, the Dressing and Organising services are practical in nature. The ‘psychoanalytic’ aspect simply means we listen deeper. We don’t just look at the clutter or the clothes, we look at the person behind them and the habits that formed them. It is a non-judgmental space to explore your relationship with your belongings, but it is not a clinical therapy session unless you specifically engage us for the Listening service.

    • Listening: Sessions can take place face-to-face in our practice or online. This will be discussed with your clinician in your initial consultation.

    • Dressing & Organising: We highly recommend these sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, as interacting with your physical space is key to the work. However, initial consultations and certain aspects of the Wardrobe Analysis can be conducted online if necessary.

  • In psychoanalysis, money has a symbolic value – it represents a commitment to the work. We believe that this work should be accessible, which is why we offer a sliding scale based on your individual financial circumstances. We do not have a ‘one size fits all’ price list; instead, the fee is something we will discuss and agree upon openly during our initial consultation.

  • Our goal is not to force you to depart with your belongings, but to help you find comfort and coherence. We focus on ‘reconfiguration’ rather than subtraction. If we discover items that no longer serve who you are building yourself to be, we can facilitate a meaningful circulation of those objects (via donation or gifting), but the decision always remains with you.

  • Yes. Whether you are speaking in a Listening session or opening your closets in a Dressing session, confidentiality is the cornerstone of our practice. Life Atelier is a safe, private space where you can explore yourself without fear of judgment or exposure.
